Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with an inscription of VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT (SERVICE TO THE STATE) inside of a laurel wreath, the reverse with a monogram of Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III, measuring 39. 27 mm in diameter, weighing 24. 4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
