This is a very interesting example of the French Modle 1816 Flintlock pistol, released just after the end of the Napoleonic wars. In design it is nearly identical to the later Modle 1822, except that is is about 3 4 inches longer. This example is in lovely condition, and is still in the original flintlock configuration, though the hammer appears to have been repaired or replaced at some point with a non original
