Germany, Wehrmacht. A War Merit Medal consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 1941 he won the Knight’s(Kriegsverdienstmedaille). A single medal, constructed of bronze, on loops for suspension from period ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of FR KRIEGS VERDIENST 1939 (FOR WAR MERIT 1939), medal is unmarked, measuring 32 mm in diameter, and weighing approximately 13 grams, in extremely fine condition.
