This is a great example of an original New Model 1859 Military Vertical Breech Carbine, converted to . 50 70 Government caliber, serial number 86664. This features a later version of the Sharps action with an improved gas seal and vertical breech. It still shows some of the original finish in areas, and the stocks are in very good shape, with faintly visible inspector cartouches! The bore is also in excellent
