This has come out of an English Collection of over 50 years and understandably it was an item I. M. A. felt needed to by repatriated to its homeland. This pistol was built along the lines of the famous Philadelphia Derringer that John Wilkes Booth used to assassinate President Lincoln. However, this is fitted with a longer 8" octagonal barrel, of about . 44 caliber. It has a back action percussion lock with J. V.
