Now this is a first for us here at IMA. The broad spectrum of markings seen on WWII M1 helmets is immeasurable, this falls into that category. The markings present on the helmet is a single 1x1 white square on the front and back of the helmet shell, signifying use by a member of the Marine Detachment aboard a US Navy ship during WWII.
