These were introduced in late 1941 and are often referred to as the A-8B 'bladder mask' in reference to the fine rubber rebreather bag suspended beneath the facemask

and made of Tombac

giving it a lovely grayish patina

rigid aluminum shell

and the camouflage cloth was usually salvaged from other uniform items

Navy Mark 1 Plastic Training bayonet for use with the U. S. Navy Mark 1 Dummy Training Rifle, complete with the correct WWII Issue M3 scabbard. These training rifles were all produced by the Parris Dunn Corporation of Clarinda, Iowa, who were not set up to manufacture the bayonets. The bayonet design was reverse engineered from the M1905 bayonet, and is made entirely of sheet steel
