The population of Juniperus communis var depressa was discovered by botanist Henry Ravenel in the mid 1800s, in Aiken, South Carolina's, Hitchcock Woods. Our plants were propagated from the remaining single clone in the population, which thrives in quite a bit of shade. Other than making a great
