This is a very nice all original example of a German WWII M40 helmet, issued to the Heer (Army). Unlike most we receive, this one is named to a soldier on the rear apron, as well as under the liner. In these places Ufz. Tripp. is written in white paint, which most likely stands for Unteroffizier Tripp. This is the lowest NCO rank in the Heer, roughly equivalent to a Corporal. This stamped sheet steel construction
