Thelypteris kunthii Part Sun to Light Shade since it was first introduced(aka: Pelazoneuron kunthii, Thelypteris normalis) The robust Thelypteris kunthii is one of our favorite Southeast US native ferns and certainly one of the most durable ferns we grow. Native to swamps and streambanks from SC west to Texas, the large, light green triangular fronds of abundant maiden fern are produced all summer, and contrast nicely with the near white stipes (stems) that support them. The slowly rhizomatous, deer resistant, winter
