Vintage Swiss Military Snowshoes Canadian Skates A very nice set ofVintage WWII Swiss Military Snowshoes c. 1940's 20th century Wood, Cotton, Metal 13 7 16l x 8 13 16"w x 1 5 16" (toe) Vintage Winter Classic "Railroad" snowshoes first developed for the Swiss Military for WWII. They feature hand braided cotton bindings, forged hob nails (traction on ice) and white ash frames. Utilitarian in design they were small enough to be carried in rucksacks while not in use.
